DEVEX is a two-day conference and exhibition which takes place annually in Aberdeen. The conference features two parallel sessions showcasing approximately 40 – 50 oral presentations. For the 2014 event we wish to continue to boost the profile of the poster presentation element with a specific attended poster session and poster competition.

DEVEX European Production and Development Conference is designed for geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production technologists, well engineers and drilling engineers. As a key knowledge-sharing event for the oil and gas industry, leaders will pass on their experience and knowledge of projects, innovation and entrepreneurialism in the sector throughout the event.

Now in its eleventh year, DEVEX is run jointly by the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB), the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE – Aberdeen Section), and the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES) and is supported by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

A new feature of this year’s conference will be a combined core workshop and field trip. The morning following the main DEVEX conference, a visit to one of the reservoir core collections held in Aberdeen will be followed by an afternoon out in the field, at a coastal location, looking at these rocks in situ. Both will be hosted by industry specialists and early booking is advised as places will be limited.
