Abstract: During this webinar, author will present case studies of the CoreDNA solution that equip core specialists with trans-disciplinary, quantitative, high-resolution core-logs to help them grasp the complex nature of their reservoir, without causing any irreparable damage to cores (plugging and slabbing) and prior to starting costly core analysis campaigns. Core logs are readily generated and used to identify lithofacies and transition zones with unsupervised machine learning algorithms. Also, it can be used to predict reservoir quality and produce heterogeneity maps all of this at the centimeter scale. Integrated data sets, reinforced by 3D CT scan images, mineralogical interpretations and lithofacies become the road map for more complex and intensive discipline-specific plug analyses.

Biography:Dr. Christophe Germay is a founder and managing director of Epslog since its creation in 2005. His current interests are with the development of technologies for the acquisition of high quality core based data. Germay holds a BSc degree of Engineering in Physics from the University of Liège, Belgium. He obtained a MSc degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota within the group that invented and patented the scratch test technology and a joint PhD degree from the University of Liège and University of Minnesota.
