DEVEX 2010

Recovery: Everyone plays a Part!

Preparations for next year’s DEVEX joint SPE, PESGB and AFES conference have now commenced.  It is once again my pleasure to Chair the event on behalf of the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society, who lead the event this year.

Following on from the success of last year’s event, where over 350 delegates, and 26 exhibitors attended a 2 day technical programme with 46 presentations, 2 pre-conference courses and associated evening events, DEVEX is now firmly established as Scotland’s premier sub-surface conference.  This year we hope to build on this strength by attracting an audience from across Europe - if we can get 500 delegates across the threshold then we will be delivering a truly world class event.

We are seeking Abstracts for presentations (which need not be formal papers) in the following areas:

•       Past Experience/Future Opportunity
        Reservoir Management Case Histories
        Appraisal through Development Strategies
        Field Abandonment
        CO2  Disposal and Gas Storage
        Heavy Oil Development
        Tight Gas Development
•       Living with volatile oil prices and costs
        Initiating IOR and EOR Projects
Impact of Current Commodity Price on A&D Activity
•       Novel Technologies – Risk or Opportunity?
        SMART fields
•       Small is Beautiful?
The Challenge of Small Field Developments
        Subsea and topsides technologies
•       European Focus (Non-UK Assets)
        Different Perspectives – cross-border learnings
•       Maximising Well Productivity/Injectivity
        Well Construction Performance
        Focus on Formation Damage
•       Resurrection Fields
        Drilling through depleted reservoirs
Breathing life back into Mature Fields
        Managing Stranded Field Development
•       Emerging Hot Topics
        Living with De Keyser faults

Deadline for submission: 31 January 2010

From a commercial standpoint I’m sure you will find that, with its reasonable delegate and exhibition cost , participation at DEVEX provides a first rate technical experience and is excellent value for money.

DEVEX is a team effort, if you would like to help in any way or be willing to join the Organising Committee please contact me:  graham.davis@cnrinternational.com or any menber of tthe organising Committee
