AFES Committee 2010 - 2011PRESIDENT Rebecca Nye Weatherford International Rebecca is currently working for Weatherford International as the LWD Petrophysicist based in Aberdeen. Rebecca’s present role involves a balance of technical support for marketing and LWD interpretation. Rebecca was previously working for Fugro-Jason as a Petrophysicist, the role involving petrophysical evaluation and rock physics modelling for seismic (AVO) inversion, 4D and Geostatistical inversion studies. Prior to this she worked for Schlumberger Drilling and Measurements where she began her career as a LWD engineer in Italy. Craig is a Structural Geologist specialising in integration of diverse data sets at micro, to well and regional scales to create realistic 3D models. At Task Craig’s expertise is integrating borehole image and open-hole log data to evaluate formation character, geomechanical properties and deformation history and their effect on reservoir quality and production. Prior to joining Task, Craig has worked for Fugro as a geophysical interpreter and as a Post Doctoral Researcher at Curtin University in Perth Australia. E-mail: craig.buchan@taskgeoscience.com SECRETARY Callum Anderson Conoco Phillips (UK) Callum graduated from University of Bristol after studying a master in Chemistry. He then worked for Schlumberger as a wireline field engineer in northern Canada before working for the geological consultancy section of TGS as a Petrophysicist. Callum started with ConocoPhillips at the start of 2010 where he has worked on their UK North Sea assets and non-operated assets. Previously Alan worked for Shell for ten years, in the UK and Norway. Prior to this he held posts with BP and ExxonMobil. Donald’s current role covers a wide range of petrophysical applications from exploration to development. Donald has served on the SPWLA board of directors as Regional Director for Europe. She is a recent graduate from the University of Aberdeen with an MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience, and has an MSci in Geology from Imperial College. She has been working for BP for 2 years, and her current role involves a range of petrophysical activities including seismic rock property work, operational petrophysics, field studies and even some production petrophysics. TECHNICAL SUB-COMMITTEE Richard Arnold Gaffney, Cline & Associates Richard is a Senior SCAL Engineer working for Gaffney, Cline & Associates based at Westhill, Aberdeen. He has previously worked for 9 years as a Technical Adviser in Business Development for Core Lab's Rock Properties group based in Aberdeen. Before that he held various technical and managerial posts with Core Lab and others in the UK, Europe, South America. He has over 25 years experience in the planning and performance of core based formation evaluation projects from all over the world. He started his career working as a Wireline Logging Engineer in West Africa and Dutch sector of The North Sea for 14 years. Previously he has held various technical and managerial posts within Baker Hughes in others parts of the world and recently a member of the DEVEX committee in Aberdeen. His present job also involves data processing of basic and advanced technologies. He joined Schlumberger in 2001 as wireline engineer based in Yemen, later he worked in several joint projects as an SIS engineer. He worked for IOC and Thai oil companies in Iran as a Petrophysicist and Core Analyst from 2003-2006 prior moving to the UK to take a role as a Petrophysicist-Rock Physicist with Fugro from 2007 to 2010. He is currently working for Corex UK as a Project Co-ordinator. He previously worked with Northlight Geoscience in Aberdeen after beginning his career offshore in the UKCS with Halliburton-Sperry. In 2006 he obtained a undergraduate Geology degree from the University of Edinburgh and went on to complete a Masters in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen.
